contempry victorian hairstyles inspired by American Hororr Story
In our latest hair class with lottie she showed us how to creat three different contempry hairstyles inspired by Americian Hrror story.
Tools Needed-
curling tong
bobby pins
pins
pin tail comb
hairspray
we started with brick work-
LOOK NO.1-This was actually very simple as its useing simuler techniques of past hair style created in class, ect.
To start I parted the hair off center, and take your first section, its important that this fits nicley around the tong otherwise you will have to take the section again. To creat a slight life at the root pull the hair away from the headand then rool down. Release this hair and useing a bobby pin hold in place. Continue this useing the brick work technic.
LOOK NO.2-For my second look i released the pins and smothed out the hair, but keeping the wave in. I used a paddel brush for this. i then created the finger wave around the face a secured again with pins. with the back it was pined into a low bun.
LOOK NO.3- this look was simpley created by realing all the pins and shaking out the hair. this instanley gave back the curls there bounce.

dark eyes and lips
My inspirstion to creating my dark eyes and lips was from the spring/summer channel catwalk.
What i loved about these looks was the softness created even using a harsh, dark colour.
The feathered out coal black, gives the illusion of swan lake/ black swan with a touch of romance. The baby pink lips have balanced this look out beautifully.

theatrical ageing of the skin
- To creat the ageing apperance of the skin i firsty moiserised the face and apllied a primer. i chose a slighly lighter shade for the foundation ad apllied that to face neck and hands. ( i created aged hands aswell)
- I applied lose powder to set the base
- I asked my model to crush her face as this shows were her frowns and wrinkles would naturally apper with age
- Then I mixed up on the back of my CLEAN hand a darker brown shad from my pallet of foundations and a brown from my supra colour pallet. With used a fin eye lining brush i applied this colour to the indentations and lines caused by my model pulling a face.
- To finish I lightly powders as this took away the shin.

my idea is one side of Sophie's face will reflect the ageing decaying Miss Havisham were as the other side is the young youthful side.

ESTELLA
For my hair ideas for Estelle i really thought about the look, and how she was portrayed in the 2012 film the great expectations.
The Apollo knot was my main driving force behind my ideas. I had a play around with ideas and settled on a bow.
I started this by taking two sections at the front and a large section at the back which I tied up with a black band and made into a high pony tail. With this pony tail I sectioned it into three with the third a quarter of the size of the other two sections. the two larger sections I folded back on themselves and pined to create the GaGa bow and with the smaller section wrapped around to cover black band, pins and lose hair.
With the sections at the front I used a curling tong and made three sets of barrel curls and pined to the side of the models hair.

Miss Havisham
For my Miss Havisham design, I felt it was fundamentally important to keep the feeling of wedding day hair evident when portraying her on my model.
i create a dishevelled Miss Havisham with evidence of deterioration, the flakey scalp, sores from scratching, ageing, and messy hair.

burns how to creat with different products
How i created the looks
- I used gelatine as this is a great alternative to latex as I am allergic
- i mixed the sachet with water and heated though in the micro wave
- applied to my hand using a spatular and pick at some of the harding gelatine with a hair pin to create uneven bubbled skin
- using my own skin tone i applied to the edges and used a red/deep red to fill in the "wound"
- I used Vaseline on a couple of the bigger lumps formed by the gelatine to give the look of blisters
Products and tools used

Creatinging light scaring with ,moulds attached to the skin with colour
- you can make a mould any size and shape you want and need
- Prosaide is used to stick the mould to your skin, when removing the mould later you will need o use a special remover called poclean.
- you will need to allow the proside to go clear and tacky before applying the mould or it will slid off
- blend the edges with witch hazel and a cotton bud
- you will need to use fixer spray before using any liquid colour
- take regular photos as you can identify any mistakes on camera
- use powder before colouring and add blood to the wouded area first before applying the correct skin colour
- for a more relistic look add a bit of moisturiser, Vaseline or fake pus
cuts,scratches, bruises and black eye
Black eyes and bruising
- Its really important to do research about bruseing before creating a bruised eye, you will need to take into account how fresh the bruise is were it is on the body and how the impact will affect the sounding tissues
- you will need to do the face makeup first
- you can use a Kyrolan pallet or supra colour
- To make a black eye look swollen you can use Vaseline but don't powder
- you can finish the look with red eye drops or a red pencil
- remember to keep blending as you go along to stop the fake look

Early Victorian Hair
This is a very typical look for the early Victorian time. This hairstyle was sported by the Queen herself and thats were the trend started.
This look was to show mimlisitic approach to fashion and strict morel codes.
I achieved this look by parting off the hair and pining the back into a low bun with the front i made a sharp center parting and plaited each side which then i arranged around the bun at the back and pined
Late Victorian Hair
This is a very typical look for the late Victorians hair. It was a time of less morel codes so the looks tened to be more romantic and a lot more loser around the face.
To achieve this look I used curling tongs in the front two sections and pined up the back into a small bun.
